Gilbert de Dios practices in the areas of corporate transactions, intellectual property, employment law, and commercial litigation. Mr. de Dios joined Claugus & Mitchell in 2001. He received his Juris Doctorem from St. John's University School of Law where he received an Academic Achievement Scholarship. Mr. de Dios graduated St. John's Cum Laude, was a senior member of the St. John's University Law Review, and the Articles Editor of The Forum, the St. John's School of Law News Publication.
As a compliment to his employment law and litigation practice, Mr. de Dios has litigated employment issues involving discrimination, as well as issues related to confidentiality, restrictive covenants, and employee termination. He handles all aspects of civil litigation and also has experience in providing preventative and strategic employment solutions, consulting on matters in the corporate setting and in advising employees trying to make a change in their work environment for professional or personal reasons.
As a compliment to his intellectual property practice, Mr. de Dios also represents select product development and marketing companies. Mr. de Dios' focus has been in the acquisition, licensing, and enforcement of intellectual property rights of the companies' products.
Prior to joining Claugus & Mitchell, Mr. de Dios worked for the accounting firm of Arthur Andersen LLP and was a legal clerk in the enforcement division of the New York Stock Exchange.
